I’m writing to let you know that DSP Recognition Week, the 2nd week of September, 9/10 to 9/16/23, has been proclaimed this year by Senator Warren (awaiting Governor Healey & Senator Markey’s official support.)
Outside of 610 Lincoln Street under tents, at our Main Office, we had our WCI DSP Luncheon event for all of our staff on Wednesday, 9/6 from 1pm – 5pm to celebrate with two Food Trucks, the Chicken & Rice Guys and the Cookie Monsta. It was a wonderful event of food, dessert, mingling, conversation and over 50 Raffle Gift Cards.
We are celebrating the exceptional work of our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). They ensure that the Individuals that we support have a rich and meaningful life every day. They provide not only personal care, but assist people with intellectual & developmental disabilities, autism & acquired brain injury to have a meaningful life in their community; assist them to manage their home, their health, their money, develop relationships with friends & family, understand their needs, ensure they participate in preferred community activities, communicate in a preferred language, advocate, and much more…
We need more DSPs to help us do the work and meet our WCI mission. Please reach out and assist us in finding DSPs to support the work we do at WCI for people with disabilities.
Join us in celebrating not only their efforts and dedication for what they do, but for all of their years of service. WCI has staff who have been with us for almost a year to 30+ years. DSPs, here’s a big Thank You for everything you do!
Thank you everyone for taking the time to show your appreciation during DSP Recognition Week, through a note, email or donation to your favorite DSP staff, supervisor or program!
A big Thank you goes out to: Jamie Cooper, for organizing and arranging the event, Jessica Floto for providing Interpreting services, Steve Roach and Patrick Collura, our Maintenance Team for the tents, tables & chairs and Erich Shafer for photography.
Thank you,
Nancy Silver Hargreaves, President & CEO
