Each year Nancy Silver Hargreaves, President & CEO, contacts Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and US Senators, Edward Markey & Elizabeth Warren requesting that they support & proclaim the 2nd week of September as DSP Recognition Week. This year it is September 12-18, 2021. Governor Baker and the Senators want our DSPs to know how much that they are appreciated. During the week of 9/12-18/21, we will recognize our DSPs who have committed their time and tireless attention to supporting all of the Individuals with disabilities at WCI during this unprecedented pandemic to ensure the health and safety of the individuals that we support, but also provide meaningful activities through technology, the opening of our Day Programs and being able to get out into the community once again to enjoy various activities.
This year we will be providing our DSPs with a large WCI Tote Bag and Gift Card. We will identify stories of the important work that DSPs do every day to provide meaningful lives. We recommend that Board members, family members & guardians join us that week and send notes of thanks or other mementos of appreciation to our staff.
Look for our photos via email, on Facebook, and on our website.
All three trades, the Provider’s Council, ADDP, and The ARC of Massachusetts will advertise the Governor’s Proclamation statewide across the Commonwealth, so all providers can support their DSPs and send in stories & photographs.
The purpose is to announce and give recognition to all of the staff who have supported people with disabilities across the Commonwealth this year given the pandemic.
We thank all of our DSPs for all the hard work and dedication that they do every day!
Thank you, DSPs! You deserve the recognition!
We also want to thank Governor Baker, US Senators Warren & Markey, and ANCOR for proclaiming the 2nd week of September 12-18, 2021 DSP Recognition Week! Please view their proclamation by clicking this link!
