Shared Living
We take time to thoroughly explore with an Individual and their personal support team their wants and needs in life to determine what type of living situation would be the most successful and provide the most growth for the people supported. The Shared Living Provider can be a family, couple, or single Individual. The physical home may be a family house or an apartment, owned or rented. Typically, the Individual moves into an established home. However, we also have experienced the Individual and Provider looking for apartments together as part of the getting to know you phase and then moving to the apartment together.
The Shared Living Provider supports the Individual in their everyday life and provides skill development as well. Often people work on household management, meal preparation, money management, leisure and community integration, social and interpersonal skills, safety, and general health and wellness. The Shared Living Provider also assists with medication management and health care appointments. We currently provide supports for 4 Individuals in Shared living. Geography is currently predominantly in the Greater Waltham area but is very dependent on the wishes of the Individual and Provider.
